Collecting data is a first step. Understanding what the data means — and what it predicts — is what creates real value for the technician keeping elevators in service. Mimir is the planned analysis module in the Heimdal system that takes that step.
Mimir will run AI analysis of the sensor data and operating logs collected by Huginn and Hermod, and present concrete diagnostic suggestions directly in the Heimdal portal. What sets Mimir apart from cloud-based analysis alternatives is that all computation happens locally in the plant room. No data is sent out. No external APIs. No cloud services. Analysis happens where the data is — in the building.
This is a requirement in regulated environments like hospitals, but it is also an advantage for any facility that values privacy and independence. Mimir makes the Heimdal system complete: from raw sensor data through local AI analysis to actionable suggestions in the right technician’s hands, at the right moment.
Planned features
- Local AI computation — all analysis happens in the plant room, no data leaves the building
- Pattern recognition — identifies anomalies in vibrations, door times, and travel profiles
- Predictive maintenance support — suggests service before faults occur, based on actual measurements
- Direct diagnostic suggestions — technicians see concrete recommended actions, not raw data to interpret
- Integrated with the Heimdal portal — presented in the interface technicians already use
- Configurable thresholds — adjust sensitivity per elevator and per measurement parameter
Why local AI
Hospitals and critical facilities cannot send operating data to external cloud services for analysis. This is not just a security question — it is a regulatory requirement in many operations. Mimir solves this by running analysis locally, on hardware located in the plant room. It also means the system works without an internet connection, without interruption during network problems, and without dependency on third-party services that may change their terms or go offline.
Part of the Heimdal system
Mimir is part of the Heimdal system and is planned to integrate with Hermod and Huginn. The system is designed so that Mimir can be added to existing Heimdal installations without replacing other components.
Who it’s for
Mimir is planned for hospitals, clinics, and other regulated environments where local data processing is not a choice but a requirement. It also suits property managers and service organizations that want to raise the quality of predictive maintenance without surrendering their operating data.
Status
Mimir is a planned component. Design and requirements specification are ongoing as part of the Heimdal system’s overall development. Contact us if you want to follow the development or participate in the requirements process.
